Three local companies may have Army construction work in their futures.

Two Escondido companies, Komada and Menco Pacific Inc., along with MW Services Inc. of Temecula were among 36 companies that received indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery construction contracts with the Army National Guard and Air National Guard of Arizona. The companies will now compete for $20 million worth of task orders — covering repairs, maintenance and new construction — over the next five years.

The National Guard Bureau of Phoenix selected the winners from an Internet solicitation that drew 54 bidders.
