Carlsbad Contractor Gets $27.7 Million Contract to Build Military CenterMonday, September 9, 2013
RQ Construction LLC of Carlsbad has been awarded a contract of approximately $27.7 million, to build a readiness center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma, Wash.
The fixed-price contract is for a 127,171-square-foot project at the Army and Air Force base, with funding from fiscal 2013 military construction funds, according to the U.S. Defense Department.
The contract award was based on competitive online bidding, with 14 bids received by the contracting authority, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Seattle.
