3 San Diego Shipyards Tapped for Ship Repair Work Potentially Worth $35MWednesday, October 23, 2013
Three San Diego shipyards will split as much as $35 million for ship repair work under a contract awarded by the U.S. Navy.
The indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity deal calls on BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair Inc., Continental Maritime of San Diego and General Dynamics Nassco to perform maintenance and alterations to Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and Ticonderoga-class cruisers in San Diego.
The deal lasts until September 2015. The government has an option to extend the contract an additional year. The Naval Sea Systems Command awarded the deal. The office reported that it received three offers to do the work.
