Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has opened a temporary hiring center in Oceanside, where it is looking to hire up to 65 people to work at a planned new location of its Walmart Neighborhood Market in that city.
The center is at 1617 Mission Ave., with applications being accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through approximately the end of the year, according to a company spokeswoman. Applications are also being accepted online at careers.walmart.com.
Store manager Joseph Cisneros said in a statement that the retailer will be hiring full- and part-time workers for the store. The majority of new hires will begin work in December, to help prepare the store for a 2014 opening at 1046 Mission Ave.
Wal-Mart plans to debut the 31,000-square-foot store in the first half of 2014. The company’s Neighborhood Market stores have a pharmacy and departments selling items including fresh produce, meats, deli foods, baked goods and grocery staples.
