Rancho Bernardo-based LRAD Corp. reported a net loss of $459,000, or 1 cent per share, on revenue of $3.2 million during its recently ended second quarter.
The company makes long-range acoustic hailing devices. LRAD electronics can project sound over a long distance while keeping it intelligible. Its devices are so loud that they have also been used to drive people or animals away from an area.
One year ago, LRAD reported a net loss of $292,000, or 1 cent per share, on revenue of $2.4 million.
For the six months, LRAD reported a net loss of $560,000, or 2 cents per share, on revenue of $6.2 million. In the same period one year ago, the company reported net income of $22,000 on revenue of $6 million.
In other news, LRAD reported recently that it had entered into a reseller and manufacturing license agreement with Beijing Paier Technologies Inc. The five-year deal would allow Beijing Paier to manufacture for the Chinese market and resell LRAD systems to the Chinese government.
