San Diego-based spinal research organization SpineMark Corp. has opened its first international spine center in Torrevieja, Spain.
SpineMark develops protocols to treat chronic back issues, and also operates as a contract research organization by conducting spinal research and managing clinical trials for other companies.
The company said that the new Quiron San Jaime Spine Center in Spain will follow spine care guidelines developed SpineMark.
The company said in a statement that it expects the new center will be “a destination site for medical tourists, and private patients and the citizens of Spain.”
There are currently five other SpineMark centers, all in the U.S., with locations in Illinois, South Dakota and La Jolla.
