New Brews and News Available at Airport’s Terminal 1

Monday, June 24, 2013

Two new locally-themed concessions have opened in San Diego International Airport’s Terminal 1: a restaurant known as Craft Brews on 30th Street and a newsstand branded as 10News.

According to a statement from the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, which oversees the facility, the two businesses were scheduled to officially open June 24 following a morning ceremony. They are among several new stores and eateries being added at the airport, including the recently opened Ciao Gourmet Market, near gates 1 and 2 at Terminal 1.

Craft Brews on 30th, operated by Maryland-based concessions company HMSHost, is modeled on the North Park restaurant and bar hub at 30th Street and University Avenue and features 10 local beers on tap and 15 more in bottles.

The 10News newsstand, named for the news operation of San Diego’s ABC TV affiliate Channel 10, is operated by Atlanta-based Paradies Shops. The concessions firm has several airport locations branded in cooperation with local and regional media outlets.

The San Diego location sells books, magazines and other items, and has an interactive kiosk with iPads that customers can use to read news online, according to the statement.
