Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts has reached a definitive agreement to purchase and operate five U.S. resort properties, including La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, for an undisclosed price.

An Omni spokesman said individual and total purchase costs were not being immediately divulged. Omni is acquiring the properties from entities affiliated with KSL Capital Partners LLC of Denver.

Omni Hotels said in a statement that the properties will be reflagged under the Omni brand July 1, and will be operated as part of the company’s Resort Collection.

The other hotels in the deal are Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage; Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas; The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C.; and The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.

The 611-room La Costa Resort recently completed a $50 million renovation that included its guestrooms, events center, athletic club and two golf courses. The property also has two on-site restaurants and was recently named the No. 1 wellness spa in the nation by Spa magazine.

Omni operates 60 upscale hotels and resorts in North America, including downtown’s 511-room Omni San Diego Hotel.
