Ralphs Grocery Co. plans to close its La Mesa supermarket on Feb. 1. Company spokeswoman Kendra Doyel said in an email that the Los Angeles-based grocer “made a business decision” to close the store at 8800 Grossmont Blvd.

Doyel said the company was able to arrange transfers to other company locations in the region for all 85 employees of the La Mesa store.

Ralphs, a division of Ohio-based Kroger Co., operates approximately 50 Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores in San Diego County.
