San Diego-based wireless health developer GreatCall Inc. has partnered with Palo Alto’s Robert Bosch Healthcare Systems Inc. to develop and market a new line of mobile telehealth products.

The collaboration will integrate Bosch Healthcare’s health management software with GreatCall’s technology in developing wireless health devices, like its Jitterbug cellphone, which has larger buttons and an easy-to-use interface that appeals to older consumers.

Great Call also sells a device called the 5Star Urgent Response that uses GPS technology to allow seniors to press a button and immediately get connected to “certified response agents” that can dispatch 9-1-1 services, contact a registered nurse or conference with family or other emergency contacts.

Robert Bosch Healthcare Systems is the e-health subsidiary of German giant Bosch Group. It offers more than 100 patient-monitoring programs that feed health care providers with patient health information in real time.
