LRAD Corp., the locally based provider of long-range acoustic hailing devices, announced that the company received a $323,000 order for their LRAD 300X systems to be used on Colombian Navy patrol boats.

The LRAD 300X is a lightweight communication solution used on armored vehicles that enables operators to issue loud, clear voice commands and warning tones.

“We’re pleased to receive another follow-on order from Colombia, which highlights the opportunity for international sales growth of LRAD products,” Tom Brown, LRAD’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “The Colombian Navy will be employing the LRAD 300X systems to broadcast warnings and critical information to vessels from safe, standoff distances.”

The company has previously received orders from the Colombian Army, Air Force and National Police.
