Veterans Invited to Apply for Program on Starting Tech Companies

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Veterans have the chance to compete for a fellowship to attend a four-month, part-time program offering help with starting a technology company.

The Founder Institute, a startup accelerator, will present the course.

Details will be available during a free presentation next week. “Veterans: Making the Leap to Startup Founder,” is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at Procopio, 525 B St., #2200, in downtown San Diego. The event will feature talks from veterans who have gone on to create successful technology companies.

Applicants must take a test to be considered for the fellowship. The institute has set a May 19 deadline for completing the admissions test.

The fellowship is a $995 value. Program organizers promise expert training, feedback and support from experienced startup CEOs, and a course schedule that does not conflict with a student’s day job.

The Founder Institute is based in Silicon Valley. For information, go to http://fi.co.
