Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Teradata Corp., the data analytics business that has about 1,000 employees in Rancho Bernardo, said it was selected to help the largest local bank in China’s southwest to build an integrated data warehouse.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, Teradata said the project for the Sichuan Rural Credit Union is the first for the region’s financial sector, and one that indicates the adoption of advanced data analytic technologies taking hold. Terms of the contract weren’t released.

The expanding credit union needs a high-performance data warehouse and financial logical data model that can improve data processing capability, security of financial transactions and data governance, the company said.

SRCU has 174 branches, more than 6,000 business outlets, and more than 68 million customers, Teradata said.
