Cricket Communications Inc., the no-contract wireless provider based in San Diego, announced new tiered rate plans for its Apple Inc. iPhone, as well as a new “family plan” rate.
Three tiered plans replace a single, $55 plan for the iPhone.
The new plans include a $50 plan (with 1 gigabyte of full-speed data), a $60 plan (with 2.5 gigs of full-speed data) and a $70 plan (with 5 gigs of full-speed data).
The family plan includes two smartphone lines for $40 per line per month, and Cricket’s Muve music service. The plans are available to people choosing the automatic bill pay feature.
Cricket is a subsidiary of Leap Wireless International Inc., whose stock trades on the Nasdaq as LEAP.
