PriceSmart Reports Net Income of $25M for Q2

PriceSmart Inc., the San Diego operator of warehouse club stores in the Caribbean and Latin America, reported fiscal 2013 second quarter net income of $25 million, compared with $20.2 million for the like quarter of last year.

Revenue for the quarter that ended Feb. 28 was $607.4 million, up from $548 million in the prior year, the company said.

PriceSmart’s revenue in March increased 11.5 percent to $192.3 million, from the same month a year earlier.

Revenue from stores open at least 13.5 months were up 7.9 percent for March compared with the same month last year.
