The San Diego Business Journal is celebrating the 19th year of its popular Women Who Mean Business Awards. This year’s event, slated for Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Mission Valley’s Town and Country Convention Center, will showcase dynamic female leaders who have contributed to the growth and vitality of San Diego’s business, civic and cultural landscape.
The event annually attracts more than 1,000 attendees and is one of the largest awards programs of its kind in San Diego. Popular media personalities Pat Brown and Susan Taylor will emcee. Highlighting the presentation will be a special Lifetime Achievement Award honoring Deborah Szekely, internationally known philanthropist and founder of the Golden Door and Rancho La Puerta, the world’s first destination fitness resort and spa.
As part of the San Diego Business Journal’s ongoing commitment to community causes, the YWCA’s Becky’s House Domestic Violence Program has been named as the charity recipient. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 17.
