Harper Gets $28M Order for Military Hangar ProjectMonday, September 10, 2012
Harper Construction Co. Inc. of San Diego has received a task order of approximately $28 million to build an aircraft maintenance hangar at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma in Arizona.
A U.S. Defense Department statement said the fixed-price order, part of a previous multiple-award contract, calls for construction of a hangar facility to support training and maintenance operations of MV-22 Osprey helicopters deployed to the air station. Work will be compliant with F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft maintenance requirements for bay, crew, equipment and related administrative space.
The task order contains a planned modification that, if exercised, would increase its cumulative value to just over $29.1 million. Work will be performed in Yuma and is expected to be completed by July 2014.
Six proposals for the task order were received by the contracting entity, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego, the statement said.
