Survey: CFO Pay Rises 8 PercentWednesday, October 17, 2012
If you’re a chief financial officer at a public company in San Diego, you’re in demand, and can command a fairly nice compensation package.
According to a recent survey by San Diego-based insurance brokerage Barney & Barney, compensation for CFOs at San Diego public firms rose faster than any other market surveyed, going up 8 percent year over year to $840,800.
In the Bay Area, pay for CFOs in the life sciences industry rose by a smaller rate, 7 percent, but it’s better at $964,000, the survey found.
Pay for directors on boards was also up both here and in the Bay Area. In San Diego, the total package for directors was $118,300, while Bay Area life sciences company directors receive annual compensation of $127,200, the survey found.
