Eventful, a social media business that promotes local events, won the 2012 OMMA Award for the best integrated online campaign in the movie entertainment category, the third time that’s happened.
The company took first place based on the creation and management of an online social media campaign for the film “Battleship.” Working with film producers Universal Pictures, Eventful offered the U.S. military community the chance to win a free advance screening of the movie. The campaign was conducted through Eventful’s social media platform called “Demand It!” The 10 military bases with the most demands won, the company said.
OMMA stands for online, media, marketing and advertising.
The firm that is based in the Del Mar Heights area of San Diego has 65 employees.
