San Diego-based Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. reported recently that its Gichner Systems Group received a contract to provide shipping containers to the U.S. Department of Defense. Gichner’s Charleston Marine Containers Inc. in Charleston, S.C. will do the work.

Already the Defense Logistics Agency has issued a $3.6 million delivery order related to the contract.

The indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contract could be worth as much as $10.3 million. The contract calls for containers of various sizes — called tricons, quadcons and 20-foot ISO containers — to be delivered to the Defense Logistics Agency in Warren, Mich.

Kratos stock trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol KTOS. Shares recently stood at $5.87; their 52-week range has been $4.61 to $7.79.
