Embarcadero Work Spurs Relocation of Cruise Ticket Booths

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Ticket booths for two local waterfront cruise providers have been temporarily relocated, as part of the ongoing $28.6 million first-phase renovation of downtown San Diego’s North Embarcadero.

Booths for Hornblower Cruises and Events and Flagship Cruises & Events, at 1050 N. Harbor Drive, were recently moved to a temporary location at the foot of Navy Pier. The relocation also involved setting up new communications cables and electrical power systems, according a statement from the Port of San Diego.

Both of the tour operators will eventually have new, permanent ticket booths when North Embarcadero work is completed.

Port district officials said Hornblower has been on San Diego Bay since 1984, and its local ticket booth serves approximately 250,000 customers annually. Flagship, also known as San Diego Harbor Excursion and which also operates ferry service to Coronado, has been on the bay since 1915 and serves approximately 1 million customers annually at its booth.
