NewSchool of Architecture Planning New International Programs

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego has announced new global design education offerings, being developed in collaboration with Domus Academy in Italy and Media Design School in New Zealand.

New programs, scheduled to start in the 2013-14 academic year, will include a planned interior design bachelor’s degree program with an emphasis on global design, offered through the newly created Domus Academy School of Design at NewSchool.

Plans are also in the works for a program in which students enrolled in NewSchool’s digital media arts program can obtain a certificate of study from Media Design School, according to a statement.

NewSchool plans to establish three schools within its academic structure: the School of Architecture, teaching the core curricula of architecture and construction management; the School of Digital Arts, with a revitalized Bachelor of Digital Arts; and Domus Academy School of Design, housing the new global design programs starting with an interior design offering.

NewSchool, located in East Village, is part of Laureate Education Inc., and all three schools involved in upcoming programs are part of the Laureate International Universities network.
