Hotel management firm Pinnacle Hotels USA has rebranded its Holiday Inn San Diego Downtown location, which is now known as Four Points by Sheraton San Diego Downtown.

The property at 1617 First Ave. operated as a Holiday Inn for 42 years, according to a May 17 statement from San Diego-based Pinnacle Hotels. A renovation of the 220-room property is scheduled for fall, to include the lobby, restaurant and other areas.

The property has 1,400 square feet of meeting facilities, an outdoor heated pool and 24-hour fitness facility. It is one of the “last true round hotels” in the San Diego area, with 360-degree views of the bay and downtown, and a top-floor meeting room with a 180-degree view, the statement said.

Pinnacle Hotels owns and operates eight hotels in three states under major hospitality brands, including properties in Mission Valley, Carlsbad, Encinitas and Solana Beach.

Four Points by Sheraton, one of several brands owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., has 161 locations in 27 countries.
