Cohn Debuting New Restaurant at Lexus Dealership

By Lou Hirsh Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Cohn Restaurant Group of San Diego plans to open its new, $2.5 million restaurant and event space, Vintana, later this month at The Centre at Lexus Escondido.

A May 7 statement from the restaurant operator said construction is nearing completion after nine months on the joint venture between Cohn and Judy Jones-Cone, owner of the Lexus dealership and luxury entertainment center at 1205 Auto Park Way.

Vintana has 10,000 square feet of indoor restaurant space and 8,500 square feet of meeting and banquet space. There is a 20,000-square-foot exterior terrace, available for private events, with fire pits and 360-degree views of surrounding hills.

Cohn Restaurant Group founder David Cohn said the aim was to create a “luxury super venue.” A large glass elevator will take guests to the third-floor restaurant, which seats 200 and will serve “California Modern” cuisine and a variety of local and international boutique wines.

The Centre is a $30 million, 300,000-square-foot facility that opened in 2009. It includes a full-service auto dealership, two boardrooms that can be rented for business meetings, indoor and outdoor venues for private functions, a golf simulator and 5,000 square feet of retail space.

Cohn Restaurant Group, led by David and Lesley Cohn, operates 15 restaurants in San Diego County and three in Hawaii. Its local eateries include Corvette Diner, The Prado at Balboa Park and Indigo Grill
