Competitor Group Inc., a San Diego firm that operates the Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon Series in 27 markets and publishes four national sports magazines, named Scott Dickey its CEO and president, among other changes, the company said March 19.
Dickey, who joined CGI in 2008, previously served as president and chief operating officer. Steve Gintowt, the firm’s chief financial officer, takes the additional role of COO. Peter Englehart continues as the company’s chairman. He is the longtime partner at Falconhead Capital, a New York-based private equity group that owns CGI.
Since his arrival at CGI, Dickey has helped expand the company from managing 16 events to about 58 this year, Competitor Group said.
In addition to the Rock ’n’ Roll marathons, the business manages the Land Rover TriRock Triathlon series in seven markets and the Columbia Muddy Buddy Series in eight markets. It also publishes Velo, Inside Triathlon, Triathlete and Competitor magazines, which have a combined circulation of 600,000, the company said.
