Environmental consulting firm Dudek, with headquarters in Encinitas, has acquired North Fork Associates, a five-person Northern California environmental and land use planning firm, in a move to expand its statewide presence.
Both firms are privately held, and financial terms were not disclosed in a June 4 statement from Dudek.
North Fork Associates, based in Auburn, specializes in environmental planning, permitting and biological services for public and private clients in the Sierra foothills, Tahoe Basin and Central Valley.
With the merger, Dudek has approximately 275 employees in eight offices throughout California, the statement said. Dudek, founded in 1980, handles projects including endangered species mitigation, habitat restoration, wildfire protection planning and other environmental and natural-resource matters.
“The demand for our services in California is growing because of increasingly complex technical and regulatory requirements,” said Frank Dudek, the firm’s president. “North Fork Associates brings exceptional client relationships and project experience in a region where Dudek is growing our presence.”
