The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau, also known as ConVis, has launched a newly redesigned and retooled website, SanDiego.org.
A ConVis statement said the agency’s site, which currently attracts more than 5.5 million visitors annually, has had extensive updates to its appearance and functionality. ConVis President and CEO Joe Terzi said the site has interactive tools complementing comprehensive destination information on the San Diego region.
The website now features 250 pages of informative content and more than 600 articles highlighting popular events and special offers at area hotels, restaurants, attractions and activities. Visitors can delve into subregions including Coronado, La Jolla, North County and East County.
There are new mapping capabilities, and content can be searched based on areas of interest, such as sports activities, dining, nightlife, arts and culture. There are also resources designed for travel trade, media and meeting planners, including hotel and venue search tools.
San Diego-based online marketing and technology firm Digitaria built the site, and it is managed through Sitecore, a Microsoft .Net platform. Officials said the website now allows ConVis’ more than 1,000 member organizations to access an extranet feature, which lets them publish and update content directly to the site.
