With Lease Expiring, Wells Fargo Closes Supermarket Branch

By Mike Allen Friday, April 20, 2012

Wells Fargo Bank said it closed its branch inside Ralphs Supermarket at Montezuma Road and 67th Street on April 14 and is consolidating it into a stand-alone branch at 4690 63rd St., a half-mile away in the College area.

Wells said the closure of the supermarket office was due to its lease expiring. The branch’s six employees are being transferred to other nearby offices.

Wells said it now operates 23 branches inside supermarkets, including Ralphs, Vons and Albertsons. Despite the closure, Wells Fargo ranks No. 1 in the county with 103 branches.
