Spirit Airlines will begin nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth to three new cities on June 21, including San Diego, the Florida-based carrier announced April 3.
A statement from the airline said it is “more than quadrupling” the number of cities it serves from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, where Spirit began operating a year ago, most recently adding Detroit and Toluca/Mexico City along with San Diego.
“Spirit will provide another nonstop option for the over 270,000 passengers flying this route annually,” said Thella Bowens, president and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, which oversees San Diego International Airport.
Spirit Flight 107 will depart daily from Dallas at 2:45 p.m. local time and arrive in San Diego at 3:35 p.m.
Flight 108 will leave San Diego at 4:25 p.m. and arrive in Dallas at 9:30 p.m., the statement said.
Last September, the discount-oriented Spirit Airlines began offering daily nonstop flights from San Diego to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
