DriveCam, which supplies video and audio recording devices to the transportation industry, said on Jan. 13 that its orders for last year were up 87 percent over the prior year.
The San Diego firm, which didn’t provide any dollar amounts, said its subscriber base has been growing at an annual rate of 96 percent in the past four years. Among the new customers are Sysco, Masco and the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority. It’s also increased existing relationships with the likes of AmeriGas and Waste Connections, DriveCam said.
The business that became profitable in 2009 now has 110 employees, including about 90 working in Kearny Mesa.
