Evening Honors Newswoman Gloria Penner and Funds YWCA Services

Gloria Penner received the Spirit of Commitment Award at the 31st annual Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN) sponsored by the YWCA San Diego County on June 18 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island. Penner, host of KPBS Radio’s weekly “Editors Roundtable” and “San Diego Week,” was honored for her outstanding leadership and for her personal commitment to the citizens of San Diego. The event raised $75,000 which will provide counseling, employment and legal assistance for women, children and families who are domestic violence survivors or are homeless.
