From Carlsbad to Carolina: RQ Gets Camp Lejeune Deal

A joint venture involving Carlsbad-based RQ Construction and Archer Western of Chicago was awarded a $151 million contract to design and build bachelor enlisted men’s quarters at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps base in Jacksonville, N.C., which is home to 47,000 Marines and Navy personnel from around the world.

The military announced the contract on June 21.

It also contains an option that could increase its value to $163 million.

The work is expected to be completed by August 2011. The contract was procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online Web site through a competitive process that involved 18 proposals.
