Novatel Wireless President Resigns

Novatel Wireless President Brad Weinert has resigned, the company said Dec. 10.

“Brad Weinert has been an important contributor to the growth of Novatel Wireless since 2003,” said Peter V. Leparulo, chairman and CEO. “We all wish him continued success in his future endeavors.”

Weinert was named president in August 2007 after serving as acting CEO and chief operating officer for nine months. The company did not give a reason behind the departure, which took effect Dec. 8.

His position will be eliminated, Leparulo said.

“With his departure, we will operate with a more streamlined management structure and his responsibilities will be taken over by the senior management team,” he said.

The San Diego company makes modems and software based on 3G and 4G cellular technologies.
