Pure Financial Advisors Opens in Mission Valley

Pure Financial Advisors, a financial planning firm featuring a new business model, opened its office Oct. 8 in Mission Valley.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Michael Fenison says his firm’s model is a complete departure from the commission- or fee-based advisory planning services.

“Our adviser representatives never received fees or commission from the sale of financial products and asset management,” Fenison said. “We reward our adviser representatives for being better planners, not for being better product salespeople.”

A certified financial planner, Fenison has been in the business for 27 years. He was president of Telesis Financial & Insurance Services in San Diego, which was sold this year.

Pure Financial’s business is built around clients getting the services they desire without having to worry about the cost because of a flat, annual retainer that ranges from about $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the level of services and products the client chooses, Fenison says.

The business has nine employees, including Fenison, four certified financial planners and two assistant planners.
