Network Stays Active, Buys Canadian Firm

Active Network, a San Diego-based provider of technology services to sports and community recreational organizations, said it acquired Jencess Software & Technologies Inc., an Edmonton, Alberta, firm that makes golf management software.

Terms of the deal announced May 14 were not disclosed.

Active acquired Jencess of Canada on the heels of two other golf management software firms last year, Click4Tee Times and Axia Golf Solutions.

Founded in 1998, privately held Active Network generated $64 million in revenue last year, up 45 percent from 2005.

It has 730 employees, including 265 at its headquarters in La Jolla.
