Cookie Campaign Marks One Hotel’s Transition

Got cookies?

The 330-room Doubletree Hotel San Diego Downtown, formerly the Radisson Harbor View, which recently underwent an $11 million renovation to elevate it to a 4-star property, plans to celebrate the transition Aug. 16 by dropping a 60-foot cookie banner over the side of the property that faces Interstate 5.

According to a long-standing tradition, the Doubletree, a Hilton brand, gives its guests warm, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies upon their arrival.

The banner bearing the message “The Cookie Is Here” will be dropped early in the morning that day. The hotel’s staff also plans a cookie giveaway on Thursday and Friday to guests and those who stop in. Cookies will also be passed out on both days in the Gaslamp Quarter and along Front Street and Broadway.

The 10-year-old property is owned and managed by San Diego-based American Property Management Corp., which has 45 hotels in the United States and Mexico.
