Client Shop, Inc., an online service that lets consumers compare quotes from service professionals, tops The List of 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies issued this week by the

San Diego Business Journal.

Client Shop registered growth of 1,772 percent between 2002 and 2004 to reach the top spot on the 2005 list.

The List ranks companies based on the percentage increase in revenue between fiscal 2002 and 2004. Lining up below Client Shop were these fast-growing San Diego County firms:

From the U.S.-Mexico border north to the Riverside County line, from the beach communities of La Jolla and Del Mar to the foothills of East County, companies offered up vital information to qualify for The List.

The companies that qualified are independent, privately held corporations, or proprietorships (not a subsidiary or division) through fiscal 2004.

The companies had to have at least $200,000 in net revenue in fiscal 2002 and show an increase in 2004. All companies applying for listing had to submit documentation from their independent accounting firms, confirming the net revenues they reported.

A complete list of the 100 fastest-growing private companies is available as a supplement to the Sept. 26 print edition of the San Diego Business Journal.
