Business Journal Earns Best of Show Award

The


San Diego Business Journal

won a Best of Show award at the San Diego Press Club’s 32nd annual Excellence in Journalism Awards for a staff report on San Diego’s housing crisis.

Overall, the Business Journal won 15 awards at the Oct. 27 event at the Shelter Pointe Hotel and Marina on San Diego’s Shelter Island.

First-place awards went to Mike Allen, in the non-daily business and financial category; Rick Bell, column and headline writing; Pat Broderick, criminal justice; Brad Graves, science/technology; Mandy Jackson, profile; and the SDBJ staff for the housing report in the series category.

Second-place awards went to Bell, in the opinion category; Broderick, education and criminal justice; Graves, political/government; and Marion Webb, science/technology and health and medicine.

A third-place award went to Broderick, in the criminal justice category.

“The San Diego Business Journal is so very fortunate to have such quality reporters and editors,” said Armon Mills, the Business Journal’s publisher and president. “It is gratifying to have their talent recognized by the San Diego Press Club.”
