Burnham Institute to Relocate to Former Biogen Idec Property

The Burnham Institute, an independent, nonprofit research center dedicated to life sciences research, signed a 66-month, $12.4 million sublease for 74,557 square feet of laboratory space at 3010 Science Park Road.

The building is part of the former Biogen Idec property and was left vacant when that company moved its headquarters to Oceanside.

The Burnham Institute will relocate its three research centers, including those dedicated to cancer, neuroscience and infectious disease to its new space.

Brent Jacobs, Greg Bisconti and Brian Cooper of Burnham Real Estate/ONCOR International represented both parties in the transaction.

The Burnham Institute will offer a portion of this property for a short-term sub-lease. Burnham is also offering for sublease Biogen Idec’s remaining 91,000 square-foot office administration building in Torrey Pines.
