Fellows in Charge at Callaway Golf

The board of Callaway Golf Co. has named former Revlon chief George Fellows as president and chief executive of the company, effective Aug. 1.

He succeeds William C. Baker, who had served as an interim chief executive following the resignation of Ron Drapeau last summer.

Fellows, 62, has been engaged in his own consulting business in New York since 2000, serving as a senior adviser to Investcorp and JPMorgan Partners. He began his career at Revlon, Inc. in 1993 and served as chief executive from 1997 to 1999. He serves on the board of directors of VF Corp.

Drapeau had held both the chairman’s and chief executive’s posts, which Baker took over on an interim basis at Drapeau’s resignation in August 2004.

Baker also stepped down from the chairman’s role but will remain a director. Stepping into the chairman’s job will be Ronald S. Beard, the company’s lead independent director.

Fellows, the new chief executive, has been given a seat on the Callaway board.

Callaway Golf Co. trades on the New York Stock Exchange as ELY.
