Ostrem Chairs Committee

The Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego has announced new committee leadership.

Bill Ostrem, president and CEO of the EastLake Co., the management company for a large master-planned community in Chula Vista, will take over as chairman for the residential real estate committee. Joe Anfuso, CFO of Shea Homes San Diego, will assume the role of vice chair.

The residential real estate committee consists of 26 industry professionals, including developers, contractors, brokers and architects. The committee creates conference topics for the Burnham-Moores Center and facilitates internship and career-placement opportunities. Recently members have taken a central part in the center’s workshops on solving San Diego’s affordable housing problem.

Andrew Murphy, division president of Fieldstone Communities, will become the immediate past chairman. He has served as chairman for more than three years, and will remain on the committee.

The Burnham-Moores Center was founded in 1993 and formally dedicated in 2004. Its mission is to “deliver outstanding education, industry outreach and research services to advance responsible leadership in the real estate profession.”
