Five new board members were recently added to the San Diego International Sports Council.
The sports council’s mission is to generate economic impact for the San Diego/Tijuana region through sporting events and activities that benefit the community economically and socially.
New members are Ted Eldrighe, president of M. Commercial Properties; Charlie Jackson, CEO of Beach Volleyball America; John Kratzer, co-managing partner of Burnham Development Group; Mike McDowell, president of San Diego Hotel Reservations; and David Stecher, managing partner of AXA Advisors.
“We are pleased to welcome them to the San Diego International Sports Council. They are civic-minded sports enthusiasts dedicated to generating economic benefits for the region,” said Larry Willette, chairman of the San Diego International Sports Council.
Sports council-sponsored events include the 1997 and 1998 ESPN X Games, the 1999 and 2000 Quality Challenge Senior Men’s Tennis Tour, the 1999 Major League Soccer All-Star Game and the 1999 Bank of America/U.S. Olympic Cup.
